Worth to know

  • Colors stand as one of the most potent stimuli for the human visual perception, drawing attention and shaping emotions. Utilizing colors in visualizations not only directs and focuses the viewer's attention on crucial aspects of the composition but also facilitates the classification, grouping, and emphasis of key information. Moreover, strategic color use can elicit specific emotions from the audience or set the desired atmosphere for the viewing experience.

  • One must bear in mind that simplicity lies at the heart of all design disciplines, serving as a pivotal element in visual communication.

  • Visuals can be of very different kinds - from an illustration on the chart to printed posters with sophisticated infographics.

  • A visual may also be dynamic like 3D model, a chart with filters and sorting features, or for example a dashboard with business data.

  • Every chart or visualization is a story. The design, colors, highlights, and shapes shall support the story.

  • An effectively crafted visualization stands on its own, offering clarity that transcends language barriers, ensuring that the viewer can comprehend its compositional intent and direction with just a fleeting glance.

  • Each visualization should come with a descriptive text, making the content fully accessible. This text isn’t required to mimic the illustration detail for detail but should be crafted to effectively stand in for the visualization throughout the educational process.
